Arrived relatively early (12:00 noon) on a Saturday. The place was fairly spacious and very comfortable, the setting was kind of a surprise considering that it was located in an industrial building in an industrial part of Kwun Tong.  It was nicely air conditioned (not too cold and yet the relative humidity was just fine).  It had an open window area on the opposite side of the semi open kitchen, which was actually 2 seperate kitchens, 1 for the cooked food and 1 for raw items.Kani's weekend men

It had an open window area on the opposite side of the semi open kitchen, which was actually 2 seperate kitchens, 1 for the cooked food and 1 for raw items.

Kani's weekend menu consisted of several weekend brunch types of items.  It also had pastas as well as several Japanese styled dishes on offer.  We ordered 2 sets to share, one was the "American Breakfast" and the other was "Pasta Carbonera".  We also ordered a regular "Americano Coffee" and "Almond Green Tea Latte", it was nice that drinks were half price if ordered with food.

The "American Breakfast" was typical offering one sees in other restaurants.  However, Kani provided a nice touch with several vegatables to complement the meaty items.  There were sauteed mushrooms and tomatos, creamed spinach, and mixed garden greens.  The "American Breakfast" had the traditional eggs, bacon, and sausage.  The Bacon was crisp and tasty, the eggs was pretty but average, the sausage was decent sized but bland.  Overall, it was above average.

The "Pasta Carbonera" was al dente with a relatively light creamy sauce, if you like your pasta with a heavy and cheesy sauce, this is not it.  The soft boiled egg was creamy and smooth but lacked that flavor.  Overall, not bad, another above average offering.

The coffee was pretty good, it was served as an expresso with a jar of hot water, you can mix it to your own taste.  The "Almond Green Tea Latte" was refreshing and yummy, small hint of almond with lightly infused green tea into the latte.  We thought the Latte was very good, definately recommend.

Need to getaway to a place that is not so crowded, give this place a try. Very comfortable considering all the crowded restaurants in Hong Kong, clean and spacious with friendly service, it's even ideal for large group gatherings.
