Simply Life is a restaurant with a lot of branches found throughout Hong Kong. They offer Western food at convenient sets for the mainstream. All of them are located in convenient locations and mostly in malls. This particular location is actually a lot bigger than we expected. Boyfriend and I were tired and we decided to come here for afternoon tea. During that time, they offer an afternoon tea menu that costs $48. Menu is in English and Chinese. The set includes a set drink.
I had the sourdough toast with smashed avocado, cherry tomato confit, chorizo with green apple salad. The salad was a bit on the wet side and didn't have much flavor. It was a bit on the bland side. The toast was crunchy. The topping was fresh and a bit on the spicy side.
Boyfriend had the beef burger with bacon and cheddar cheese with spicy fries. His was a bit better. The bun was a soft brioche. The patty was moist. However, the burger was also cold. The fries were crispy and not that spicy.
Food was ok. Not great but not terrible. Food also came out extremely fast. I think we didn't even wait more than 10 minutes and the burger arrived. Though, yes, it was also cold so we think everything was already prepared in a very fast food fashion. If so, then disappointing as we do pay service charge for a non fast food experience.
