The chawanmushi was fine. Smooth and savory. There was some shitake mushroom and fish cake found in it.

The miso soup was ok as well. There were some mushrooms as well as tofu puffs.

I decided on the Deep Fried Jumbo Oysters and Prawn Set ($168). It looked nice until I noticed the jumbo oysters were really not that jumbo in size.

The prawn had far too much coating so it was mostly just coating, revealing the shrimp was not that big either. It was also extremely oily. At least it was crunchy.

The so-called jumbo oysters were even more disappointing. The coating again was extremely thick and oily. And the oyster? Was even smaller! It was a mini oyster. It was also over cooked and chewy.

Very disappointing as the place did look nice. But the food wasnt very good at all. Price wasnt' expensive for Japanese. Service was very good with constant refilling of tea. But the table I wasn't properly wiped as I found some flying fish roe stuck to my place mat and I didn't order flying fish roe. Though I do like the fact they plastic wrapped the chopsticks so it gave an image of hygiene. It was definitely geared for thos that want a more mainstream Japanese experience and not really mind that low quality of the food. I wasn't too impressed and there are far better deals and Japanese dining options in Causeway Bay for me to want to return.
