It's my second visit to Ninety's. It was a bit crowded during lunch hours and we had to wait for around 20 minutes in the rain. It's my second visit to Ninety's. It was a bit crowded during lunch hours and we had to wait for around 20 minutes in the rain. I was really excited to try their summer menu but it turned out to be a bit disappointing.

The grilled black cod with scrambled eggs, pickled pink onion, and black sourdough was nicely plated. It looked really appealing.  However, the taste just didn't impress me as much as the delightful plating. Black cod is one of my favorite fish. It's delicate and velvety texture is simply heavenly. However, the black cod I tried in Ninety's was a bit mushy and watery. Not sure if they dry the fish off well before marinating it. Luckily, the flavoring was on point and the fillet was nicely paired with the Japanese teriyaki sauce. The golden and custardy scrambled egg was very delicious, as well as the sourdough. The bread was tangy, but not overly sour. Overall, the dish was delectable. It was definitely a refreshing choice for lunch during the hot summer.

The norway salmon, mushroom, avocado with scrambled eggs on black sourdough was meh. The avocado was too acidic for my liking. Unlike the guacamole I tried before, it wasn't buttery and tasted quite bland. It was pungently grassy, without the usual nutty and creamy texture. Also, the salmon was so-so. The flavouring was quite good but the salmon tartare wasn't really fresh and lacked the oily flavor of salmon. I had nothing to complain with the perfect scrambled eggs and sourdough. I just felt like the food quality declined a bit compared to my first visit.

This was a new dish featured in the summer menu. Undoubtedly, this dish looked divine! The teapot decoration was very impressive. Actually, it was filled with maple syrup. One of the poached egg was a bit overcooked, the gooey and runny yolk was missing. The dish was just so-so, without any WOW factor.

This panna cotta was a bit disappointing. I was looking forward to this dish as it was one of my favorite dishes in some Melbourne brunch spots. Yet, it was a bit watery. The granola was so dry and tasteless and there were too few fruits to pair with the panna cotta. I think it would be much better if they can make a layered mango and coconut panna cotta with passionfruit compote and honey-coated granola.
