I bought a coupon from a Group Buy magazine website. $118 for a cake together with a bottle of home made jam. Originally the coupon requires holders to phone in for ordering at least one day in advance but there are plenty of cakes available as per the waitress in answering the phone call. And hence I could pick up a cake on the same day that I called.The cake I chosen was a cheese cake of original favour and a bottle of strawberry jam. The cake I chosen was a cheese cake of original favour and a bottle of strawberry jam. The cake is very small (I guess that it is less then 1/2 pound) even though the packing is very attractive. The packaging is made of light wood with a green silky wrapping string. A small knift and two little spoons (all made of light wood) were given by the waitress.
The taste of the cake is not very good. Not enough cheese, I would say. I and my family members did not taste the jam as we all like cheese cake only. Anyway, it is a bundle in the group buy promotion. The jam seems made from real and fresh fruit. The waitress specically said that there is no preservatives added and so could only be stored for around one week.
The shop is a very small counter in The One. Two waitresses served the small counter. The attidtude of the girls were pleasant and helpful in explaining that the cake had been deep frozen and it should be leave in room temperature for around 1 -2 hours for best serving and better taste and texture.
Overall the food quality (I mean the cake) is just average. Definitively not worth the money. The profit margin earned by the owner is too much. The advertisement in the web in food reviews are misleading. Not worth to try. Personally, I prefer cheese cakes in Cova over this "Cheesess" cake shop.
