To be honest, I think I had way too much expectations on this, since this char siu rice is a signature dish from Chop Chop.😂 But it turns out to be quite disappointing though.
The barbecued pork🐽 in my dish was quite on the chewy side as you can see from the pic, wasn't that tender at all.😕 But still, you couldn't deny that it was pretty fragrant and savory with the slightly sweetness on the outside though.🔥🥢
Other than that, the sunny-side-up egg was so unsatisfying.🍳🤨 Feel like the egg was overcooked and it isn't much of a runny-yolk to mix up with my rice.😢
Anyway, the sauce was actually pretty good and flavorful, it went pretty well with char siu and every scoop of rice.😋🍚 The meal also comes with a soup, it was made with wax gourd🥒 and meat and other ingredients; and the meat was unexpectedly more tender than the char siu😂😂 lol.
Overall, the meal does look pretty appetizing. But I just don't think it was worthy enough for price here.🧐
