This review is based on this branch alone and its staff. We have tried other branches but Tuen Mun was the worst we've ever experienced.I dont usually point out exact staff members, but felt the need to do so this time. We came in the shops side entrance, stood and waited for a someone's attention, no one cared to ask us even with staff beside us at the till point. We came in the shops side entrance, stood and waited for a someone's attention, no one cared to ask us even with staff beside us at the till point. We proceeded to walk to the 2nd entrance and stood there until a kind lady spoke to us.
Quickly we sat down and was given menus, and we noticed the special monthly offer of $1 hkd extra for an extra meal when purchased with any other full price dish. We thought this was great but it said members only. We politely asked the waiter who rushed passed and clearly didn't want to speak to us, how do we know if we're members. He rolled his eyes and said wait..... Came back with a piece of paper and said whats is your number. He wrote our numbers down and walked away, 2mins later he came back and said we are members. Hurrah!!
We waved for attention again to place our food order and the same gentleman waiter returned. We asked to clarify that the offer was infact $1 for an extra meal, and he said yes, but then he told us if you guys order 2 meals you'll get 2 free, and if you can't finish it, its only $1 so what is there to loose. So rather than eating 2 meals for 2 people, here he was pushing for us to have 4 meals just cause its costing next to nothing. Now I'm not sure how green this company is but wasting food is certainly not green in my books. Why would you make us sound cheap by telling us its only $1 and nothing to loose. So we unhappily ordered 1 meal with 1 free meal. We asked the size of the free meal and he said its normal. What does that mean... do we know what normal is?
Okay so deep breathe we decided not to let that ruin our lovely afternoon. Food came quick and to our surprise the free meal was rather large. We got the ramen noodle bowl with omni pork ($1) and pork chop rice (full price).
Okay the good news, the ramen was super yummy and tasted exactly how we imagined before ordering. The pork chop rice was good, a bit dry and clearly not baked properly as the rice was like it was dished into the container and then the meat and sauce thrown ontop with cheese then grilled for 5 minutes (bland and tasteless)
So luckily we didn't get any more (service) from this waiter but during our meal, we were listening and watching him and other staff. It seemed he has a bad attitude towards every customer.. an unhappy monk sitting behind us got it, the uncle to the left got shouted at for asking about the menu and to make matters WORSE he looked like he just rolled out of bed. His hair was a mess, his t-shirt was filthy with staines and he walked like the floor was sticking to his shoes.
Not all is bad, some other waiters and waitresses where attentive and looked presentable. But as no one had name badges we can't identify anyone.
So overall, I will not recommend nor come back to this place. I'll check out the other branches and review them too based on my experience in the near future.
