There are numerous Cha Chaan Tengs on Portland Street and 糖太子 makes a big contrast with its bright and fresh look. It is like an oasis among the many. The decor is really homey and cozy with its light-coloured walls and furniture. What I especially like is the open space outside the restaurant.There are a wide range of desserts available including waffles, frozen yogurt, pancakes and mille feuille. We ordered a tiramisu and chocolate fondant to start with. The portion was quite big for 2. The tiramisu was really moist but lacked coffee taste to go with the rich marscapone cheese. The chocolate fondant was perfectly bakes with rich chocolate lava oozing from the volcano top. What an indulgence!!
Waffles are our favourites so how can we go without them? We had the banana waffles and the presentation was amazing. Waffles were light and crispy but it would be perfect if the scoop of ice cream was bigger.
We wanted something savoury for a balance and the egg salad finger pizza was exactly what we wanted. They looked really cute. The finger pizzas were crunchy and the egg salad was appetizing.
