For some odd reason, we decided to take a chance and try out one of the restaurants hidden in the side alley ways. This is where we found Lilium. It was large in space and plenty of diners. It looked clean as well. They served Taiwanese food. We were there at the start of tea service and was provided only with the afternoon tea menu. Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. Ordering is done by scanning a QR code that is in both English and Chinese as well.If you order of
Boyfriend had the Fried Chicken and Braised Pork Rice ($58). You can ask for more rice with no additional charge. ILots of salt and pepper chicken and plenty of braised pork was provided. There was a hard boiled egg on top. It was pretty salty as well. The chicken was a bit hard and over cooked. I had the Taiwanese Braised Beef with Beef Balls Noodles Soup ($58). You can choose the type of noodle and had the Taiwanese flat noodle. This was so over cooked, it was soggy and fell apart. The beef was soft but had no flavour. The soup was just full of salt with not beef flavour. Sadly the beef balls were the best thing in the entire bowl. Firm and bouncy.
This place was pretty terrible. Food was not expensive but it definitely wasn't very good. It seemed like it was busy as it attracted the working crowd who needed a quick bite. Service was a bit pushy as well as they kept hovering and pushing people to order quickly.
