Went there for lunch with my friend today. We were given some bread and the bread was warm with nice soft butter. Today we were given sesame bread, which is not my favorite. I normally prefer the cheese bread, but the sesame one was still alright. We were given some bread and the bread was warm with nice soft butter. Today we were given sesame bread, which is not my favorite. I normally prefer the cheese bread, but the sesame one was still alright.
The following were the dishes we ordered:
1) My friend and I both went for soup - cauliflower cream soup as our appetizers
2) We then went for the pasta (tomato sauce with penne): in fact, I wanted to go for the duck breast at first, but I told them to switch the potato mash to potato wedges instead. Eventually, they served me the fish, which I didn't order. Finally, I decided to go for the pasta. The pasta was just ok. The sauce was rather ordinary and the penne mixed alright with the pasta. The pork was nothing special and it didn't taste great. Overall, just an average dish, not really worth $108.
3) We then went for the dessert: chocolate cake. In fact, service really needs to improve. The waitresses are not efficient enough and we had to tell them more than twice to get the dessert and get a refill of water. Seriously, service is not very good at all when they're even charging a service fee. Service is not great at all. The waitresses are too young and far too inexperienced.
I digressed, but for the chocolate cake, I liked the fact that they made the crust thicker this time. The crust is my favorite and I really liked it, but still, the chocolate didn't taste as strong as before. Overall, I really think the chocolate cake isn't as good as before. It really needs to improve and should also try something different rather than always just cream or mousse cakes.
4) Tea/Coffee: my friend ordered hot lemon tea and I ordered hot lemon water. It was alright, but I do wish the tea/water would be served a bit hotter.
Generally, the price of this lunch set can be much cheaper as the pasta is really nothing special at all.
