I've been looking for a new dim sum place ever since the old restaurant in this shop last November. Well, since this one is in the same place, at least it's close by. I still miss the old one, though! Went for a late breakfast / early brunch. There were 2 of us and we weren't terribly hungry, so we only ordered 5 dishes. - "Chinese crepes" (everywhere else called rice flour rolls) with beef - good taste, came surprisingly quickly, but not piping hot all the way through.
- Baked BBQ pork pies - tasted OK, but served barely above room temperature.
- Prawn spring rolls - the long, thin pencil-type ones. Quite good, although again not terribly hot (notice a theme here?)
- Siu mai and har gow - took a while, but came out piping hot, fresh from the steamer. The har gow in particular was much better than I expected after the first 3 dishes. If that had come out first to set the standard, and the first three dishes were at the right temperature, I would give them two thumbs up.
I'll go back again when I'm hungry and in the mood for dim sum, but if I have friends in town or it's a special occasion, I'll walk or taxi a bit further.
