Coco Ichibanya is one of those places where there's never a queue of people. I really don't know why. But it's always the case. From Japan, it provides you with the basic Japanese curry in all sorts of combinations. If you're not a curry fan, this place is not for you. For some reason or another, I often end up ordering this. Omurice with pork cutlet curry. It's odd how I always find this place very solid. No matter where I go, the curry always tastes the same. The food is not badly done as well. The curry was tasty and sweet. You can decide how spicy you want it. The pork cutlet was juicy and not dry. The coating was not too thick. The egg was not overcooked and the rice was fluffy.
You can upgrade to sets as well. I decided to get a drink and ice cream. Now, before the ice cream used to be a scoop. But now they have changed it and serve you soft serve matcha ice cream with azuki beans and a mochi. It was better than before!
Always never really disappoints. The food is standardized and it hasn't gone down in quality. After dinner they gave us a bunch of coupons to use for next time. So, I'll be back!
