With branches at New York, Los Angeles and Singapore; Lady M stirred up a storm almost immediately upon its arrival in Hong Kong. Since I really dislike waiting in line, my friends and I decided to go as soon as they open in the morning, for breakfast!! Located in the middle of the shopping mall, the lineup area, cake display and dining room are all very open to public. The use of simple décor, mostly in white color and all glass cake display case really fits the elegant theme of Lady M. There was still a line, of course, but it was better than the 1.5 hours wait most people reported. I think we waited for about 45 minutes. When we were next in line, we were given the menu to read, because you actually order at the cashier when you get the table, and they will bring it to you. In order to make the wait and the trip worthwhile, we decided to try all flavors of their famous Mille Crêpes offered! While Mandarin Oriental Cake Shop is charging $45 for their Mille Feuille, Lady M’s comes with a $68-$75 price tag; my expectations were honestly quite high, however, they failed to deliver. Signature Mille Crêpes was heavy, heavy in a way that its cream layers were just an overpowering taste of milk. The cream was smooth, the crepes were thin and average, but the taste was just “too much milk”. It was not the nice creamy and rich complex egg custard kind of heavy, just simply milky.
