Six-course classic set dinner

My wife and I tried their classic and seasonal set. It's HK$1,188 per head, including tea/coffee and petit fours. There's no amuse bouche. The seasonal set review was posted separately.

This is a simple but well done course. The frog legs are very fleshy and lightly floured, fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The garlic puree and parsley sauce add to the meaty flavour.

Lobster bisque prepared right at your table, kind of a performance. Very rich soup with the right amount of kick from the cognac. The lobster pieces are perfectly cooked.

This is a less appealing course. The sea bass is too mushy to my liking. The turnip and spinach are too blend. I'm really not a fan.

The steak (tenderloin I believe) was cooked perfectly as we wanted. The mash potato is extra smooth and velvety (don't know what's their trick...).

It's the restaurant's signature dessert and many reviewers wrote about it. I agree it's one of the best in town, particularly the crispy crown...

Lastly, every table receive chocolate covered ice cream balls on a bed of foggy dry ice as petit fours, which is a joyful way to end a dinner.

All in all, this set feature old-school gourmet food the right way. It's great if you're not looking for challenging combinations or innovative mingle of flavours.
