On ground level, there is a reception bar area, but it's mostly for display as the main action of the restaurant is happening in the basement!  Once you make your way downstairs, you can see the bar seating area that is set up with a few long tables and bar stools.  Since I have corgi legs, we decided to sit in the area with regular tables and sofa seating.

There's also a band stage, but there wasn't a band playing on the night we visited.

I noticed that by the artwork on the wall, there were websites listed next to the pieces, and our server, Courtney, explained that Cellar Door lets local artists display their artwork in the restaurant and those who are interested can contact the artist to purchase the art pieces.

As the interview didn't really go the way I expected, we decided to kick off our happy hour with a bottle of moscato to sweeten my day.

The moscato was light, sweet, and refreshing, and at $135 per bottle, it was a pretty sweet deal!

After we picked our beverage, we checked out the food menu to pick a few tapas to munch on.

After looking at the menu, I realized this wasn't the traditional Spanish tapas, and Courtney explained that the menu is pretty much a small plates menu, but rather than trying to introduce a new concept, they decided to label them as tapas since the locals are familiar with the concept of tapas.

After we placed our order, Courtney gave us our silverware, and it was interesting that rather than forks and knives, we were given metal chopsticks!  For our tapas, XO decided to order the Seared Tuna Salad and Ribeye Beef, while I ordered the Korean BBQ Ribs and Kashmiri Mushrooms.

Korean BBQ Ribs: The ribs were very tender and I was able to separate the meat from the bones quite easily.  The marinade was a combo of sweet and spicy!  I really liked the molasses component of the dish!

Since I like to have my ribs smothered in sauce, I asked Courtney if I could have a side of the bbq sauce, and before I know it I got a big plate of sauce!

Kashmiri Mushrooms: The blend of spices they used in the mushrooms gave it a very complex flavor profile, and the chili added a pretty good heat factor to the mushrooms!

After having our individual picks off the menu, we decided to split another pasta and the brownie!

Tiger Prawn & Pesto Pasta:  The tiger prawn that came with the pasta was huge!  With its size, it was a little overcooked and just a tad mushy.  The spaghetti was really delicious though!  The pesto, which was hard to see since the spaghetti was a squid ink pasta, was very aromatic with a good balance of herb and garlic flavors.

Chocolate Brownie: This brownie was AWESOME!  It had the perfect crunchy top, and the brownie itself was moist and chewy.  Courtney said that she and another chef had multiple brownie cook offs, and this was the winning recipe!  This brownie is definitely a winner!

Looking at our receipt, we were surprised that Cellar Door doesn't include a service charge!  With its favorable wine prices, a relaxing environment, friendly service, and innovative dishes, Cellar Door is a gem in the Shek Tong Tsui neighborhood!
