Their eye catching patisserie mimicking HK local food such as dim sum, pineapple bun, lemon tea, are very photogenic (have to commend on their marketing and creativity) But proof is always in the tasting, and they are still primarily for eating. Turns out (as expected) it’s more for the eye and camera than for the taste (esp when I’m not particularly a fan of sugary stuff) The gimmicks and Dominque’s reputation has certainly been factored in the hefty price tags.Lemon juice box | $62By far the m

Lemon juice box | $62
By far the most iconic and best imitation that can almost fool you! It’s actually a earl grey mascapone mousse with bergamot curd centre with a white chocolate ‘box’. The mousse and bergamot has nice flavor but the white chocolate layer is way too sweet.

Black & White milk | $65
It’s pretty cute but also unbelievably sweet. Starting from the white chocolate ‘tin’, to the salted caramel panna cotta (to me it’s just overly sweet caramel without the salt) and all the way to the rum soaked brioche centre, it’s overloaded with sweetness that is inedible for me.

HK milk tea cookie shot | $48
Cookie shot in iconic yakult shape, coated with chocolate on the inside. The milk tea is more milk than tea as expected but surprisingly not too sweet (finally!) hence a bit bland, of course not even close to any proper milk tea.

DKA (Dominque’s Koylgn Amani) | $38
Perhaps the only saving grace is their pastries which are much better option. The signature DKA is indeed delicious with crunchy pastry and caramelized sweet crust, but also got the buttery aroma. I do would like to try their other pastries but no next time for the patisseries.
