We weren't sure what to have for dinner so came into Aeon to see what was available. This is where we found Pineapple Canteen. Originally one of the food trucks in the Food Truck plan, it now appears to have turned into a restaurant.The decor was bright and yellow with a number of pineapple sayings.Menu is in English and Chinese. You can upgrade to another drink for $18. I did that with a mint pomelo tea. This was ok. Not really worth the upgrade. I wanted the Pineapple ice but it was sold out.
I had the Filet Chicken Pineapple Bun combo ($52). Size was big and they do give you a lot of fries! Fries were crispy and piping hot. The bun was quite good. Sweet and soft. The chicken meat was juicy and tender. There was a slice of fresh pineapple, lettuce and tomato as well. Everything went together well.
Boyfriend had the Satay Beef Bun combo ($46). This didn't come with a pineapple bun but a regular hamburger bun. It was still good but yeah .. defeats the purpose of a place focusing on pineapple buns. The satay beef was quite good with plenty of satay sauce as well.
Fairly good food. We were surprised! And service was excellent! One staff noticed boyfriend stealing my ketchup so that person brought over a whole bottle of ketchup for us to squeeze away without us asking. Very attentative! Prices not expensive so probably would return.
