Came here again after a memorable teppanyaki lunch and this time we opted for their robatayaki set at $1680/person. Unfortunately the sea urchin had a weird taste that ruined some of the dishes, though they claimed to be ‘fresh’. Also the chairs were not comfy. We had to keep our back straight for two hours and it was quite a torture honestly. Other than that, food was nice and service was attentive. But I will only return for their teppanyaki..🥂Amebai Tarter topped with Sea Urchin, Black Caviar

🥂Amebai Tarter topped with Sea Urchin, Black Caviar and Shrimp Sauce
Beautifully presented but as mentioned, the sea urchin had a weird taste and this taste lingered in the mouth for quite a while. The shrimp beneath was fresh and sweet but we could only taste that until the unpleasant taste was gone.

🥂Char-grilled Ishigaki Gai with Bamboo Shoots, Black Truffle and Scallop Sauce
Love the savoury sauce against the bouncy Ishigaki Gai. The fish roe also added a little crunch on it.

🥂Slow Cooked Live Abalone with Mitake Mushroom and Liver Sauce
This was my favourite dish of the night. The abalone was tender and the sauce just penetrated the whole abalone and made it very flavourful. Also loved the texture of the soft mitake mushroom that absorbed all the essences.

🥂Sea Urchin Tempura and Onion Tempura with Yuzu Salt
Again, even though it’s tempura, the weird taste of the sea urchin still cannot be covered up. The onions were great though but they are not the main character.

🥂Char-grilled Silver Cod Fish with Radish in Clams thick Soup
The skin of the silver cod was really crispy and accompanied well by the sweet and flavourful soup.

🥂French Royal Quail served with Morels and Quail Liver Sauce
I’m not a fan of quail but this was an exception. It was cooked just right and not overwhelmingly greasy.

🥂Char-grilled A5 Japanese Saga Beef with Crispy Burdock
Thinly sliced A5 Saga Beef was cold already when it’s served. Not bad but not as wow as their quail.

🥂Rice Crust with Japanese Sea Urchin and Miso Stew Rice
Everything with sea urchin here is just weird and the rice crust was not crunchy at all. My friends even asked to remove the sea urchin from it.

🥂Cheesecake with Vanilla Ice cream
As always, a dessert to wrap up the dinner. It’s not overly sweet and matched well together.

We were really disappointed on the quality of their sea urchin at its price point. We haven’t had uni with weird taste for a long time already. We planned to try their omakase later but we’d rather spend money on other places than here. Other dishes were nice though. If you would like to come here, better go with their teppanyaki restaurant or order from a la carte menu here.
