Popsy Modern Kitchen is the brainchild of Sheung Wan’s private art gallery dining room Popsy Room. I had a wonderful time at Popsy Room and heard a lot of great things about Popsy Modern Kitchen. It landed itself a plush spot in the new The Wellington Building. I couldn’t wait to try out this new dining experience where art meets fine dining! Jennifer Chung, the founder, artist and dining curator of the two spaces warmly greeted us and shared with us the entire concept of the restaurant/exhibit space. The place was stunning, bright and spacious (seating up to 80 guests.)

Look at this gorgeous space. I couldn’t help but stare at all the pretty paintings hung around the place as well as the beautiful flower wall behind us! The art pieces and wall paintings will continually change every few weeks. So you can keep coming back to see all the cool artsy stuff.

The beef tartare $168 came out first. The beef tartare had a simple signature Balsamic Raisin Reduction sauce, egg yolk and was served with crispy raw garlic crostini. We devoured the beef tartare and wanted more. We decided to hold back from ordering more since we still had a lot of food coming.

The roasted angus beef tenderloin was amazing. As soon as you cut into it- it’s completely like butter. The beef was tender, juicy and soft.
