Located in Sheung Shui, this is a popular Japanese restaurant serving a variety of food. This is small local restaurant that can hold roughly 30 customers at a time. Despite the size, the spacing between tables is spacious enough to give you a comfortable experience. Setting and décor is what you would expect of a typical Japanese restaurant in HK.
Service
The service was excellent. After being led to our table, our order was taken straight away when we were ready. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Tea was refilled regularly without asking and we were always served with a smile.
Food
A great selection of food is available: your usual sushi and sashimi selection, skewers, deep fried foods, noodles and rice. On our visit, we ordered the deep fried sesame chicken wings, a selection of sushi, skewered teriyaki chicken and the foie gras beef fried rice.
The deep fried sesame chicken wings were heavenly. Extremely crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside. It was also perfectly seasoned.
The sushi was average. The texture and taste of the rice was okay. The prawns were very meaty but felt quite bland and compressed – was not very good value for money. The salmon belly was tasty and melted in your mouth but was not top quality.
The skewers were extremely flavoursome. Firstly the chicken was so tender and juicy and the teriyaki sauce it was coated with was the perfect combination of sweet and salty.
Lastly, the foie gras beef fried rice was delightful. Beef melted in your mouth and the foie gras was extremely fatty and was so rich in taste. The rice was also cooked in its savoury teriyaki sauce.
Overall, an excellent experience. Very friendly staff with above average food. Would definitely come to this restaurant again if I am in the area.
