Hearing from friends that this omakase restaurant is always fully booked during lunch, we have the opportunity to try today since we were clearing our annual leave today. Sushi Kei was located at Jaffe Road, few minutes walk from Wan Chai MTR.For their lunch set, they offered 2 pricing, set at $498 or $1080 per person. For their lunch set, they offered 2 pricing, set at $498 or $1080 per person. We ordered their $498 set, which was very reasonable. It consisted of steamed egg, 12 sushi, soup and dessert or coffee.
Steamed egg was served hot, very soft and smooth in texture, melting in my mouth. There was lily plant in it, quite unique, which was sweet and juicy.
Shortly after we finished our steamed egg, the sushi chef began preparing our 12 sushi. They served us 麥金鯛, 牡丹蝦, 伊左目, 北寄貝, 墨魚, 帆立貝, 池魚, 三文魚籽, 赤海膽, 深海池魚, 鰤魚 and 野生拖羅.
As their sushi were all imported from Japan, thus their sushi were fresh in taste. Some of the sushi were added with green lime, thus it helped to bring out the freshness of the sushi and was refreshing. Salmon roe and sea urchin seaweed were flavourful, while their scallop, squid and prawns were very fresh.
Miso soup was clear and served hot, with plenty of cut green onions in it.
Rock melon was very sweet and juicy, crunchy as well.
