I went here for lunch during Restaurant Week, and while the food was interesting at times, the overall impression was that it was extremely underwhelming.
We started with the olives, which were delicious, and we had interesting starters. However, for our mains which were a steak and sea bream pasta, I was largely unimpressed. The steak was lukewarm and we had to send the sea bream back because there were still scales on the fish and the pasta was undercooked and stuck together. Of note, is surprisingly the panna cotta. That was delicious, delicately flavored with vanilla bean.
Our main server was very attentive and sent back the pasta with an apology, as was our delightful coffee guy who asked us very genuinely about our experiences. However, the atmosphere of our visit was soured with our first contact with Catalunya when we stepped in at the reception, when their hostess' attitude was frankly not very hospitable and made us wait while she checked our booking even though the restaurant was very empty at the time.
Out of all the restaurants on offer for Restaurant Week, Catalunya was the only one I really wanted to try because it looked so promising, but I left feeling disappointed.
