My coworker and I went to Heirloom last night for their taco Tuesday. We started with the pomegranate guacamole, and for the main course, each got the taco platter and a sandwich. The tacos were superb. Every one of them had bold, delicious flavors, nice textural components, and a perfectly chewy flour tortilla. What was even more impressive was that each taco tasted completely distinct from the others. Among the tacos we tried were a balinese fish taco, a BBQ pulled pork with slaw , a duck

Among the tacos we tried were a balinese fish taco, a BBQ pulled pork with slaw , a duck taco w/ sour cream, onions and cilantro, a shrimp taco w/ some sort of cream sauce, and a crab meat taco w/ a nice, tangy sauce. It was like taking a trip through several different countries and tasting a flavor combination unique to each country.

The sandwiches were also excellent. My steak banh mi was made with a perfectly crusty baguette, medium rare steak, some crunchy veggies, and a nice dressing that enhanced (as opposed to masking) the flavor of the steak. So good. My coworker got the salmon sandwich. He said he enjoyed it but would have preferred less of the mayo based dressing and maybe a higher salmon to bread ratio. The sweet potato fries that came with our sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had - light crunchy exterior, smooth, soft interior.

The cocktails were just okay. Tamarind margaritas were well made, though I prefer slightly less sweet, and a bit stiffer. The other cocktails we ordered were on the weaker side too, and did not taste quite right. I would say whomever is making drinks would benefit from a bartending class or two.

Atmosphere is casual, festive and intimate. Great place to order up a bunch of dishes and share w/ a table of friends. I'll definitely be coming back!
