This place looks pretty cool - nestled within the Eslite bookstore, it has a unique high-end nonstandard cake selection and interesting quirky floral decorations. But...seriously What Is Up With The Service?? 😱😱😱
The first server, a girl with cropped hair, gave me serious stank-face when I asked a question about a cake. Then when I persisted with my question (I can’t back down) she showed me serious disdain. Then when she delivered the cake to the table I asked for ice water and she didn’t even reply.
The male server was rude too, responding to a different question with just silence. Both clearly disliked their jobs, and the patrons in the cafe. It seemed like a company culture thing than an individual thing. Definitely wasn’t me - I asked normal questions (“is that a cheesecake center? Is that a carrot-flavored frosting?”) in a normal tone.
🤔 Is this a direct consequence of the HK protests/youth terror movement? I find a lot of young servers are just blatantly rude nowadays - happens everywhere. The commonality is they are all young (<28) - I could easily imagine them donning their gas masks, black outfits, Molotov cocktails after finishing their latest shift at the cafe. Just take the elevator downstairs and walk directly into the riot on Hennessey Rd...🥶🥶🥶
