(Old style indeed- written menu on a blackboard. The waitress had it placed on the nearby chair during the moments of choices. No English.)

Food is delivered according to the traditional order of dinner without overlap- appetizer, soup, main.

I had 煙英國膳凱撒沙律 as appetizer. Typical Caesar with croutons and romaine lettuce dressed with rich anchovy dressing. Topped with one small piece of smoked English eel, without sauce. Mildly fishy and soft.

Creamy mushroom soup
Excellent. Not sticky but deep and rich with the pure essence of mushroom. To truly unlock the mushroom and to reach the brown colour, the secret is a long slow caramelization at low temperature. Appreciate the chef’s efforts.

(The head porcelain soup bowl ensured my impression of old style.)

I had G. 香煎西班牙黑毛豬排伴蜜桃汁 as main. For most of the time, pork has to be prepared til well-done, but as the waitress introduced, the special Spanish Iberico could be ready at medium-well. Then a tender texture will result. I gave a try and found it fabulous. Crispy outside, tender and juicy inside. Since I personally dislike the combination of sweet and salty ingredients, I skipped the peach sauce and enjoyed the raw taste. Side vegetables were not bad either.

A classical dinner ends with dessert and two of us shared Ginger Soufflé ($68). Excellent. Puffed up very nicely. Strong taste of ginger and not too sweet. A sexy melt-in-the-mouth texture with a barely cooked and super soft centre. Nice match with cream and vanilla sauce. Had to enjoy before the chat continues as soufflé collapsed quickly.
