Really Cool Bar, Weird Server

This is one of the coolest looking bars in HK. When you walk in it looks like a space pod, futuristic, with metallic bugs (beetles?) stuck to the walls and ceiling. This is one of the coolest looking bars in HK. When you walk in it looks like a space pod, futuristic, with metallic bugs (beetles?) stuck to the walls and ceiling. There’s this entire back row of seating which is obscured by fabric, making it seem like there’s a silent row of observers watching the entire proceedings in the bar, which reminds me of the observers who don’t participate during the orgy scene in Eyes Wide Shut.

The server was kind of weird. She sat down and kept on pushing their “customized drink” option, where you state your preferences and the bartender creates a “customized” drink for you. What you may not be aware of is they charge a lot more for that drink ($200+), and you have no idea how much it costs until you receive the bill, because the bartender decides what to use and the cost. We avoided that, despite repeated urging by the server.

There were a lot of mainland tourists in the bar that night. Not a bad thing, just an interesting observation. I thought it was about 70% mainland tourists.
