Catchic is a strictly Landmark-tenants only restaurant. The interior reminds me of Cathay’s lounges—modern and neat with white marble tables and copper-golden accents. Staff are uniformed and polite. The menu is compact featuring a handful of Asian and Western classics, like sweet and sour pork, nasi goreng, oven baked sea bass, and even an Impossible burger. Unfortunately the kitchen only prepares steak fully cooked so that option was out of question. I decided to get myself a grilled cauliflow

This came with a miso and carrot greek yogurt purée, paprika and walnut pesto, and some rocket. I did expect this to be fully drained in oil, so made an extra request to have it slightly less oiled, and to have the purée on the side so that I can add it in amounts that I prefer. The cauliflower “steak” was a pretty small portion, still drained in grease, but well seasoned and overall pretty flavourful with the paprika. Good enough for a quick and light dinner.

This was recommended by our host, who claimed that it was one of the most popular dishes. Chicken was reasonably tender and fatty but the soup was not chicken soup. Overall a B taking into account the price tag.
I suppose this is the sort of 70% institution that is clean and proper with reasonable service quality and food that keeps you going but never wow. But sometimes that’s all we need.
