I was on my way to a class when I noticed this shop's banner. I needed a light meal at that time and thought to try this place out. It's run by a nice old lady along with her son. Their menu is both in English and in Chinese. There's so many to choose from. I saw quite a lot of customers taking out their sirloin steak burgers, clam and garlic pasta, porkchops with rice and also truffle french fries (this one seems to be a must for everyone). I saw quite a lot of customers taking out their sirloin steak burgers, clam and garlic pasta, porkchops with rice and also truffle french fries (this one seems to be a must for everyone). The shop is pretty small. Most of the shop was occupied by the kitchen/workstation and the remaining space was given to customers wishing to dine-in. Be warned, there are only 2 seats available.
When I arrived, there were 3 people in front of me waiting for their orders. It took some time for the queue to move but it's understandable as everything is made-to-order.
I didn't feel like eating carbs today and chose for something super light - Chicken chops with rice ($35) which comes with their soup of the day. After some time has passed, I was handed my order - five thick strips of pan-grilled chicken paired with hot steamy rice. The rice to meat proportions were perfect! The rice tasted different from any plain rice that you get and that's because they steam their rice with broth. The chicken was marinated nicely so it didn't taste like bland chicken at all. They didn't over spice the chicken like they were hiding something either.

The son did the grilling and he asked me which sauce I would like - curry or tomato - and being a curry lover, I chose that. The curry sauce is of course, made in-house. It wasn't too watery nor was it overly spicy or sweet either. It's a light yet simple sauce wherein you can still taste the chicken and the rice.

The soup for the day is tomato soup. It was made fresh and with real tomatoes. Not canned but real tomatoes blended to bits.

All in all, my meal was super healthy and fresh. I felt really full when I was halfway done with my tomato soup. My whole experience would have ended perfectly if the son hadn't gone outside and smoked near the shop. I understand that there are some who need this stuff but at the same time, I wish that he was considerate enough to others. Not everyone likes the smell and the taste of tobacco with their food afterall.
A personal note: I pray that this shop, who has been going around for a year and abit, will continue further ahead for decades to come. Since providing quality-made meals at reasonable prices, they have amassed a number of healthy-minded loyalists who choose their meals over others.
I will certainly return to try their other meals out.
