That was Seasalt's facebook status update Oct. 30th. What does that say to you? To me it says that if you go on a Wednesday or Thursday, you can get fish tacos (or "Fish" tacos).

To Seasalt, however, it means if you go on a Wednesday or Thursday, you can get fish tacos, but only at certain times. Times that aren't mentioned in their status updates, on their webpage, or even on the poster advertizing fish tacos in the restaurant itself. How I'm supposed to magically divine these facts is also not mentioned.

So I'm a little irate. I wouldn't knowingly walk all the way over to the mid-levels for fish and chips that everyone says are pricey and mediocre. I would walk just about anywhere for fish tacos. I'm a Texan and I just miss fish tacos that much. But no tacos for me. Here's what I (grudgingly) ordered instead:

Set A, $88. It comes with fish, chips, salad, and one non-alcoholic beverage. I picked lemonade. Regarding the lemonade, it was rather small. I finished it before I finished the rest of my meal. I don't see why they have to skimp on something so cheap to make as lemonade. It's $35 for another, which is 40% of the price of the set!

Other reviewers complained that the fish was dry and overcooked. I will report that my fish was not dry, so maybe they've fixed that. Other reviewers complained that the portion was small, but I'm not a big eater and I actually prefer small portions. I don't think $88 is unreasonable price-wise for the amount of food I got. However, I thought the fish was bland. It could be an Australian thing. OK: C-

I liked the chips. They were hot, crisp, plentiful, and flavorful. Seasalt had Heinz ketchup rather than that awful Del Monte stuff that's all over HK, which is also a plus. I thought the fries were well-salted, but of course all the salty food makes you thirsty, which is, again, another reason they should give you more lemonade. Fries: Good: B+

The salad was decent, containing a variety of vegetables (lettuce, bean sprouts, radicchio, carrots, and some red thing I didn't recognize) as well as some pickled ginger. I've definitely got salads in HK that were little more than iceberg lettuce that cost $45 (::cough:: Jacomax), so I was happy to see that it wasn't just an afterthought here. B+

I won't be coming back. The fish didn't impress me enough to make the trek again for fish tacos, and as I said, that's really the only reason I would knowingly go here. There's lots of places to get better fish and chips (Chippy and The Pawn, for instance).
Other Info. : I really liked the view.
