We were meeting friends for a meal on a Sunday. A slightly odd location but I am happy it's there. Round the corner from a well known commercial building in Kwun Tong and a stones through from Laguna city, we are glad we have found a good quality restaurant, that is so close. The venue has multiple types of events we have yet to experience, salsa dance classes, and live bands being two on offer.

On arrival I was met by pleasant aromas and a modern smart, carpeted, interior that made me feel immediately comfortable. Table cloths were a clean and neat white, with comfortable dark chairs and the place was well lit, with soft lights and candles.

The toilets were, modern and reasonably spacious
a pleasure to use and always reassuring about the owners attitude toward hygiene.

Coming from Britain, Indian food is commonplace, as is Italian pasta dishes and Thai offerings. I have had my fair share of each, but rarely in a place that offers this many cuisines. This is a hard thing to do well and I am pleased to say Corner90 achieves this with reasonable success. The best food and their primary style is Indian cuisine but by no means every style they had on offer was tried

The quality of the starters and main course to follow were impressive. Sizable, tasty samosas with picante and flavourful dips are probably the best I have had to date. Naans and spicy curried dishes that were not overpowering albeit for a seasoned curry tongue and were bursting with aromatic flavours. The salads were fresh and cooling but the Italian pasta dishes whilst resembling classic Italian food were not as impressive as I would have expected for the price. This is perhaps the evidence of over-complicating a menu and trying to achieve too many styles. My taste-buds on the whole were very satisfied.

For a western meal in Hong Kong I found that it was averagely priced. By reducing the amount of styles on offer, food savings could be made and passed on to the other dishes making them greater value. If dishes were a tiny bit cheaper I am sure people would frequent more often but still it is worth a visit in my mind.

Not too pretentious and not trying to be, a pleasant dining experience with good service and good food.

Eat well.
