My colleagues often go to WaiWai but this was my first time. We are all Japanese and enjoy having drinks and izakaya-style food after work. My colleagues often go to WaiWai but this was my first time. We are all Japanese and enjoy having drinks and izakaya-style food after work. The yakitori and other dishes we ordered were very tastsey and authentic, as I was told to expect. The choice of shochu was amazing - more than 30 different brands. My collegues also ordered sake and the selection was great. We asked the owner what he would suggest and he served us a dry junmai kinjo that was perfect with the food we ordered!
We did make a reservation and all 4 of us arrived on time. I understand their policy of asking customers to come as they reserved. This is common sense. Not only in Japan but other countries is this considered to be polite.
Anyway, I and my colleagues find this place to be one of the best Japanese Izakaya in Hong Kong and will make a reservation time we ALL CAN make. Or at least have the courtesy to call and change the time.
