Sushi Hiro is one of my staple lunch places in CWB. It serves great sushi at reasonable prices. But apart from sushi, they offer such a huge variety of set lunches featuring sashimi, rice bowls, noodles, tempura, yakitori, etc. (or a combination of all of the above!) that you can expect to spend a long time making up their minds on what to eat!I tend to zero in on the 16 piece sushi set (HK$350). You get to choose 16 pieces of sushi from a list that includes chu toro, uni, scallops, salmon, crab
I tend to zero in on the 16 piece sushi set (HK$350). You get to choose 16 pieces of sushi from a list that includes chu toro, uni, scallops, salmon, crab, egg, salmon roe, squilla, sea eel... just to name a few! They have specials of the day as well written in Japanese on the list (you have to ask the wait staff to translate.) However, you are limited to 2 pieces of each type of sushi - obviously to prevent people from going crazy on chu toro ;)
The sushi set comes with a few appetizers. The chawanmushi is silky, smooth and chockful of ingredients. Here's the gorgeous sushi platter. Today, (from upper left) I chose chu toro, mackerel, scallops, crab, salmon roe, sea urchin, skipjack, squilla and sea eel. Everything was delicious and fresh, although I would say my least favourite was the squilla, which was quite tasteless. The skipjack and chu toro were so satisfying fatty and tasty and fresh.
The set lunch also comes with tea/coffee and fresh watermelon. Perfect ending to a delicious, healthy lunch.
I am definitely planning my next lunch there again!
