We wanted to take advantage of the drier weather for a walk around the peak last Saturday night. The plan was to have dinner at Café Deco right before the walk; however, the dinner was big disappointment. We were placed at a table by the window but right on top of the building entrance. Since we only made the reservation Friday afternoon, we didn’t’ expect any harbor view. However, we also didn’t expect sitting across from a big LCD screen flashing with advertisement for the Peak either. We

We ordered seafood platter for the two of us. For about HK$530, we would expect the seafood (i.e. crab, oyster, mussels, clams, and crawl fish) at least is fresh and tasty.
However:
Oyster – Reasonable size but tasteless. Not even seawater taste
Crab – Reasonable size but tasteless.
Mussels – Overly cooked
Clams – What happened to the clams??? We couldn’t find the meat!
Crawl Fish – Uneventful
We ordered a regular pizza after the platter, and that was a bit better. Total bill for the seafood platter, one pizza, one glass of cheap white wine, and a big bottle of mineral water was HK$965!!!
I suppose the best feature of Café Deco is the location, IF AND ONLY IF you get a table by the window AND facing the harbor. If not, with all the other restaurants recently established, why even bother!
