To satisfy a sudden seafood craving, a few friends and I headed over to TST for a quick fix.

Observing the tables around the restaurant, we noticed the dishes looked quite substantial, so our party of three ordered 2 pots and a dessert to share.

To start, we ordered a Vegetarian Dry Spicy Hot Pot. As expected, it was quite a big serving. The vegetables absorbed a lot of the spices, herbs, and oil from the sauce, so it was an almost explosive heat once it reached my tastebuds! And as the dish name indicates, it was very true to its name... a dry kind of spice that isn't too overpowering but just flavorful enough to spice up the veggies.

We went on to order the crayfish, because the crab was sold out.
When the little lobsters arrived at the table, I was surprised at how plain the broth looked. However, a light whift of this dish will do it justice. The crayfish was very fresh and each piece was easy to shell. The crayfish was succulent and the broth was indeed very aromatic and true to taste. What I liked most about this spicy meal was the absence of thick oil mixtures in every dish. Things weren't too greasy.

To wrap up, we ordered a dessert to clean our palette, so to speak.

The Sichuan Jelly was very delightful. It had a light rose frangrance and the jelly was very close to a cognac/aloe texture. It wasn't too sweet, and the cooled bits seemed to help relieve my tongue from the numbing spices.

Overall, good experience and flavorful dishes to satisfy a spice craving appetite! =)
