The pomelo grill prawn salad was something that we had already wanted to order last time, and it was a regret that I hadn’t tasted it sooner! There were 2 huge juicy prawns with shells that came off easily, and the pleasantly sweet-tasting pomelo mixed with the salad was super refreshing, making it in an ideal appetizer.

The new Obama Bun Cha (google the story behind the name if you don't get it) was definitely the highlight of the night for me. The roasted pork collar butt was deliciously seasoned and super tender - wrap it in crispy lettuce for extra satisfaction! There was a perfectly balanced sweet and sour fish sauce (nuoc cham) to add to the rice vermicelli for more taste and moisture, which went well with the mild Vietnamese ham (cha lua).

We also tried the new bun bo hue, in which the soup base was a plethora of spicy, salty and umami flavors. Besides the traditional braised beef shank, other ingredients like pork knuckle, pig blood curd and chu lua were added for more variety.

For drinks, the only hot option was the lotus seed and longan 'slush', and the slightly sweet liquid warmed up my stomach. The waitress mentioned that they had boiled and baked the anti-aging lotus seeds and nutritional longans by themselves, so I ended up eating everything after finishing the drink.

The preserved lemon soda was extra fizzy and salty compared to the usual sugary Sprite base, so all I have to say is that it might not be for everyone.
