By coincidence came to Berliner for 2 consecutive Saturday evenings. After last week at the DB branch today we had dinner at the Olympic branch. The food quality was similar across the two branches, but in terms of atmosphere and service the Olympic branch fared much worse. It was noisy and not family friendly (e.g. no high chairs or children's cutlery). They missed a few of our orders and the follow ups were slow. Would just like to comment on the dishes that we didn't try last time: Vegetarian
Vegetarian Spatzle
This is the German pasta which is a bit like the gnocchi. The portion was small for what they charge (around $150), but I liked the chewy bite size pieces of the Spatzle.
Dessert Platter
This was a nicely presented 3 tier platter. The bottom layer was apple strudel with icecream. The apple strudel was cooked just right, with the warm apple pieces wrapped around the crunchy pastry. The middle layer was "vanilla pancake", which turned out to be some biscuit like crunchy cake which was too sweet for me, although I did like the raspberry sauce on the side. My favourite was the top layer as the mini chocolate cheesecakes were a pleasant surprise. They were full of cream cheese flavour and simply melt in the mouth!
