Now Thai Chiu is branching out and it's located in Central. Found inside the wet market area, it appeared very small and take away only. But go behind the take away counter and you'll find a sit down restaurant. It's not very big  and you do feel a bit cramped.

Menu is one big book that includes lunch, tea and dinner sets. Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. They seem to focus more on sets that include a drink, bowl of soup and dessert.

As it was tea time, we ordered from the tea set menu.

We were immediately provided with soup. This was just a plain clear broth that tasted  like corinader.

I ordered a Hainan chicken rice ($48). The amount of chicken was quite generous and it was layered on top of a nice mountain of rice. The rice had a slight pandan flavor but it wasn't very rich in chicken fat. The chicken was ok. Moist and tender. I think Tian Tian was much better but then this place is half the price.

It came with pickled cucumbers and a hot sambal sauce for dipping.

Boyfriend ordered the beef brisket curry with rice ($48).  This was fairly spicy but it had a rich coconut flavor and fragrant from the various herbs used in it. The brisket was so moist, it literally fell apart. There was a a few juicy pieces of tendon as well.

I had the ice Thai milk tea. It was pretty good with a sweet yet fragrant taste that is often found in Thai milk tea.

At the end, they brought out dessert. This was two mini cups of random Thai jelly. Both were coconut based. It was ok. A nice addition to munch on.

For $48, this was cheap and definitely value for money. Food was pretty good with generous servings. This is seriously hard to find in Central. Place is fairly clean though a bit cramped. Service is quick as well. I'd be back.
