Sharing food with flies

Had dinner with a friend in this restaurant. The area near the kitchen was stuffy. There were flies flying around and landing on our food. When I was holding and eating a Banh Mi (Vietnamese baguette), a fly landed on it and was right in front of my face. It was a disgusting experience. I requested to change the table. It was better because there was sufficient air-conditioning near the entrance. A lady offered free dessert and tried to explain to us that the flies came with their fish sauce. If

If the flies came with the fish sauce, does it mean that all the food cooked was contaminated by flies? She seemed to have implied that. We could not stay in the restaurant to chat for too long because the flies started to fly to the new table as well.
