Mix is a wellness focused eatery in serving healthy juices, smoothee (their signature smoothies with natural ingredients and no ice added) and wraps. They used to have a number of outlets in town but likely the high rents in Hong Kong stops their expansion plan. The MIX maintains a relaxing environment with bright decoration and lighting that make one feel healthy dining there.
In this afternoon, I was attracted by the bake-to-order waffle tea set.a) Chocolate Hokkaido 3.6 Milk Waffle with Banana a la mode ($40) – 7/10
Their waffles were made with Hokkaido 3.6 Milk with acclaimed high milk fat content and smoothness. Among various available toppings I picked chocolate flavour with banana. It took some 10 minutes till my waffles arrived. To my disappointment, the waiting time wasn’t paid back as the waffle was not as expected. Thought made on spot, it lacked of crispiness on the outside and quite stiff at the inside. The chocolate fudge and vanilla ice cream was average. b) Detox (additional $15 for upgrade from standard coffee) – 8/10
Instead of having the Illy coffee, I upgraded my drink to freshly squeezed juice. Among the 3 available choices, I picked “Detox” made with spinach, cucumber, celery and pear. The juice was dominated with cucumber and pear which avoided the strong flavour from celery. 06.2013
