Samsen has been a favorite since it opened its original Wan Chai location. Always high quality, always busy, always leaves me stuffed. Before we got married, my wife and I went on several dates to the Wan Chai branch and after the Sheung Wan location opened closer to our flat, we have split time between the two. This location has a larger menu: more curries, satays/skewers, some different drink options. It’s also larger (and therefore noisier). But Samsen always delivers a quality night out. Best

Best, as noted elsewhere, to get here ~15-20 minutes before it opens for a guaranteed spot, or you might spend more time queuing than eating. No reservations (a divisive move, but I like it). Have brought dozens of out-of-towners here and they all agree it is some of the best Thai they’ve ever eaten.

Service is excellent at both locations at well, and it’s always fun to turn and see the kitchen working overtime to appease (and definitely please) the gaping maws of Hong Kong gourmands.
