After an exhausting day of work, it’s time to hang out with my friend with a decent dinner. Tonight, our choice is Dose, which is conveniently located in SoHo district in Central.
Once the order was placed, slices of toast bread were served, with smooth extra virgin olive oil, black vinegar and butter given to dip. Meanwhile, the Classic French Onion Soup was served with crispy crouton and creamy and rich cheese on top. The dish was served with a traditional Chinese stew, which the Chinese tableware was used together with Western foods, showing that the restaurant owner creatively combines both strengths together.
Dose offers a wide variety of choices of inspirational and uniquely designed cocktails. Tonight, our dinner then began with The Gold Time and Feel so H...ot.
The Golden Time is an iced cocktail, with a well-balanced combination of lemon, orange and ginger ale. It’s really refreshing to have such drink after a long day of work. Three distinctive layers tastes could be found and it’s a good choice to clear your troubles away.
As my friend was not feeling well but still insist on having a cocktail, she decided to order Feel So.... H....ot [indeed she is (giggling)]. It is a hot cocktail with a mixture of drambuie, apricot brandy, ginger liqueur, tea and ginger, served with a sophisticated Chinese boccaro cup, with traditional flying dragons and clouds engraved around the cup. If you are a ginger lover, you must love it! The cleverly made cocktail with a ginger flavour impressed us a lot. Chinese always believe that ginger drinks can help relieve pains and colds in the body.
While chit-chatting and enjoying the wonderfully made cocktails, one of the signature dishes, grilled stuffed whole calamari, was served on the table. The calamari was grilled and stuffed with smartly sauced chicken and mushroom. Cuttlefish and juice and mustard vinaigrette salad dressing mustard sauce were given. The calamari and chicken and mushroom goes well with the sauces. All could equally stand out.
With friendly and warm service offering dishes and drinks at reasonable prices, this casual eatery is a welcoming addition to food lovers and busy Hongkongers to hang out with friends in the area.
