A friend bought an offer from groupon so we decided to give it a go. I live in the area and the place seemed empty most of the time so didn't expect too much.

We had mussels to share and it came with toasted bread. It was nice to dip the bread in the white wine sauce and the size of the mussels were larger than we expected. The mussels could have been a bit fresher, I had one that had sand in it and tasted horrible.

The soup of the day was borsh soup, with a piece of garlic bread and salad. I enjoyed the soup, it had quite a bit of ingredients and had the spiciness that you don't find a lot in many places in HK. The garlic bread could have had more garlic flavour to it and the salad was good with the vinaigrette (or maybe I just like sour things).

Main course was a mushroom risotto and sirloin steak. The flavour and texture of the risotto wasn't too bad, but the dish was ruined by the risotto rice as it wasn't cooked through. It was quite chewy and slightly grainy (like its uncooked) and stuck to our teeth. We overheard another table telling the waiter it was under-cooked as well. Not many pieces of mushroom in the risotto, so for a mushroom fanatic like me, didn't score there.

The sirloin steak seemed more like rump steak. It was flavourful on its own without the sauce; the sauce was too salty for me so I'd have it without. The steak was soft, easy to cut and easy to chew so, tick. Vegetables in the dish, tick. A bit oily though, not sure if its the oil they cooked the steak in, or if it's from the steak itself.

Dessert was chocolate mousse and blueberry cheesecake. Chocolate mousse was very simple, came in a ramekin with a bit of cream and sprinkles on top. The cream melted really quickly, didn't look great, especially when the colours were running off the sprinkles. Texture of the mousse was smooth, can be made easily at home. Cheesecake on the other hand was bad. The base seemed too moist, I prefer more crumbly, dry and buttery. The cheese itself wasn't smooth, it was pretty bad, we didn't like it. The blueberry jam on top didn't add any points, only the 2 blueberry fruits themselves were alright, not sour and not too sweet.

Overall was acceptable, but as reflected with the amount of customers they had, there's a lot of room for improvement. I'm not sure if the location affected this as well since it's tucked in the cinema area between the popcorn counter and the escalators to the cinemas. To be honest, I wouldn't go again, not for the groupon price, no way for normal price. Their oysters might be better, I think it's their signature, but I'm not an oyster fan so not for me to decide. Anyway, I'd rather go elsewhere for fresher mussels, better cooked risotto, steak and dessert.
