Delifrance has once been a chic chain cafe serving french food and beverages many years ago. In the last decade, there have been more and more stylish and quality cafe brands joining the market, and Delfifrance has lost its advantage and position. That Saturday morning, I had an hour to spend on my breakfast and took the opportunity to check out the recent quality of Delifrance. First, I was impressed that the waitress offered me a quite corner table and performed effectively. There were 6 options in the breakfast menu. I picked the spinach omelet, bacon and sausage, they offered choice of baguette or toast. Sometimes, I would have doubt about ordering a spinach omelet, worrying that they would use frozen spinach (that could taste very awful and that's why the children in the West hate eating vegetable) or that the spinach inside the omelet would be too soggy.
Out of my expectation, their omelet turned out to be above standard. It was cooked brown outside, but soft inside, not watery at all, the spinach was fresh and tasty. They even put two pieces of tomatoes topped with dried basil (of course, it would be much better if they use fresh herbs) with the dish, pretty impressive.
Two key areas they need to get improved for getting the market share : bread/pastry and interior decoration.
