I finally was able to try out this place after a year of scoping it out. Nice location amidst other craft beer spots in MongKok, great decor especially the toilet. I had a honey porter beer, which was tasty. However, I was put off by two things. First, more than half of their Moonzen beers were unavailable, which seems inexcusable when you control your own supply chain - isn’t that the advantage of a brewery owning its own bar? Second, the server said I needed to order food with my drink or else
However, I was put off by two things. First, more than half of their Moonzen beers were unavailable, which seems inexcusable when you control your own supply chain - isn’t that the advantage of a brewery owning its own bar? Second, the server said I needed to order food with my drink or else they would get in trouble with the government. While this was indeed a Covid restriction policy in the past, thay policy ended three months before my visit, which means the bar is either ignorant of F&B rules or they’re knowingly trying to generate more revenue by forcing food on customers. Either way, shame on them. I want to support this local beer spot, but I’ll be reluctant to return.
