Dinner at Isono had some peaks but too many troughs. Beautiful decor and friendly efficient service, but some strange dishes. An example is the anchovy starter. Normally these would be pickled white anchovies / boquerones with a bit of presentation or some bread. At Isono the chef had literally taken a spoonful of anchovies and dumped them on the plate. Way too strong to eat by themselves. We also ordered the mussel pot. The mussels were cooked accurately but had little flavour. Neither did

We also ordered the mussel pot. The mussels were cooked accurately but had little flavour. Neither did the cod fritters (which we ended up adding the anchovies to!).
One outstanding dish was the bluefin tuna cheek. Incredibly rich and fatty, this was delicious. If only other dishes had been as good.
We finished with two cheeses, a manchego and a gorgonzola. Unfortunately we were given the rind edge of the gorgonzola which was tasteless. After some discussion the staff brought us an interior piece which was better. Again, poor attention to detail.
If food quality improves we would consider going back, but not before.
