It was in the late afternoon that I went for tea. There were a lot of items to choose from, ranging from snacks to noodles and rice at reasonable prices.

I was feeling peckish, so I ordered a tea set that consisted of some fried items and a small oysters noodle (a popular Taiwanese snack). The set also included a drink, and I chose the standard bubble tea.

The first thing that came was my drink. I had told the waiter to give me less ice, which he was fine with, but I was super surprised that the drink was actually a frothy one with no ice chunks in it at all. Even better!

As a fussy person who is very particular about her drinks, I originally also wanted to tell the waiter to have my drink made less sweet, but I didn't do so in the end as I didn't want to appear too troublesome.

So you can imagine how delighted I was when the syrup was served separately. I could decide how sweet I wanted my drink to be!

This the first time I have been served a Taiwanese cold drink where I could control the sweetness myself, so I was really very impressed. A small detail like this had already won me over.

What came next was my small oysters noodle. It was simply delicious. The only thing I'd say is that more treatment could have been done with the oysters to remove that raw taste they had in them.
Perhaps some more pepper or seasoning would do?

Anyway, I tried to compensate by piercing each piece and letting the oysters sit in the bottom of the soup to soak in some of the salty goodness. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the noodles.

Last came the fried stuff, which included cuttlefish balls, tofu and chicken. The batter was a bit too thick in general and there was a bit too much seasoning, but I was pleased with what I had had so far, so these little imperfections didn't really bother me.

The only thing I would say about the fried food is that I wish it was served at the same time as my noodles. I would have loved to have a bit of the fried goodness, then a gulp of the soup, and so on.

It's my first time here at this restaurant, and I already anticipate coming here again in the future with some good friends!
