The Location: The Central and Western District on Hong Kong Island with Central being on the forefront comprising countless places to shop, eat, drink, dance and sleep. When roaming around Hong Kong, one will somehow always pass through Central which is not only the city hub connecting Hong Kong Island with the Kowloon Peninsula, but also filled with office buildings, tourist attractions and last but not least bars and restaurants tailored to please both locals and travellers. Lan Kwai Fong (in short: LKF) is a popular area in the heart of Central where the party people hang out to grab a bite to eat, get their noses wet, and burn the midnight oil until the wee hours of the night.

The Place: Loyal Dining is a conventional Yum Cha restaurant in the heart of Central, and just around the corner of LKF. The restaurant can be accessed from street level. The restaurant does not stand out when seeing it from the outside, but it is pretty well taken care of when being inside. The furniture is not brand new, but it is visible that they have made an effort to mix and match different styles. Nicely framed pictures can be found on the walls, beautiful Burberry-like looking wallpapers have been put to improve the atmosphere. Lighting was good and decent Jazzy music was played in the background. The staff was very attentive and nice too.

The Food & Beverage: My friend and I had four different dishes all of which were really outstanding in terms of taste and in addition to that nicely presented. We were given different sauces to use with our food. The restaurant used high class chop sticks, and also placed cutlery including good quality napkins next to our plates (without having asked for anything or feeling insecure as a foreigner). We asked for iced water, and were not forced into buying a drink. Our waters were also refilled having added sufficient ice including a lime.

The Price: This Yum Cha place was a little more pricy than other Yum Cha places around, but I need to admit that the food (visually and technically), the great service, and the overall atmosphere made up for it. We placed four different dim sum orders, and paid 38HK$ each.

The Bottom-Line: I was very pleased with my choice of Yum Cha restaurant for today. The atmosphere was cosy, the staff was very friendly, the food arrived fast and was fresh, nicely presented and superb in taste. I will certainly come back here and bring more friends along. Thanks.
Other Info. : superb Yum Cha, great atmosphere, great interiors, great food, fast service, friendly staff,
