After a movie, we came cwb for dinner. Lantern lomei usually has a long queue so I've never had a chance to try. Surprisingly no one queuing tonight so we decided to dine here!

We ordered the set for 2 persons, which included the signature marinated with self-select vegetables and noodle base, 4 pcs of marinated chicken wings, a self-selected taiwanese snack, jiufen traditional taro balls and 2 special drinks. We chose little prince noodles and water spinach for the signature marinated bowl, shake shake seaweed salted crispy chicken, iced jasmine green tea and iced jasmine green milktea for snacks and drinks respectively.

Food came to table at light speed, the signature marinated bowl included honeycomb tripe, pig ear, hundred layered beancurd, grilled mochi, white radish and black fungus. Portion was big but the taste of the ingredients was more or less the same as they were all soy sauce briased. I found it quite salty and boring to eat when I had more. The marinated chicken wings also had the exact same taste. Sorry but the seasoning was just not my cup of tea.

Next was the salted crispy chicken, staff gave us a paper bag to throw the chicken and seaweed powder in to shake. Again, seasoning of the crispy chicken was on a salty side. Chicken skin was soggy and soft, it wasn't crispy at all. I'd say it's another dish that brought me disappointment.

Lastly, the dessert included not only taro balls but red beans and pearls. They were all cooked to perfect with chewy texture. Sweetness of the black sugar based soup was just right, not overly sweet, appreciate that!

Overall, portion is big with reasonable price. However, visiting once is far enough for me. Come only if you're fan of soy sauce braised food.
