I love this place. From the first time I walked in, to tonight, my umpteenth time visiting, Tavern del Mar always has a local feel with international appeal. #1. They have Tip Pepe Sherry (so rare in HK!) and Estrella beer on draft. Enough said. #2. The tapas are fantastic. Recommendations include; omelet, homemade bread, baby eel, anchovies, potatoes with tomato and sour cream, and definitely go with the cold meat plate#3. The paella is fantastic. #3. The paella is fantastic. My favourite is the squid ink, but we just had the noodle paella tonight and it was wonderful. Portions are large and full of seafood and flavour.
#4. Kim and Domenec are the best. Everytime I come in they have something new to show off or new recommendation that just totally hits the spot. This time was the noodle paella which I am so excited to finish off for breakfast tomorrow. And if you're planning a trip to Barcelona get Dom out of the kitchen for some recommendations of must see places.
This is my neighborhood go to. Always fun, always and experience, and always quality. Do it.
