Berrygood is one of the first froyo stores in Hong Kong, so i remembered - it stood in Central long before froyo joints sprouted everywhere in Hong Kong. it was once the only place you could get decent froyo on the Island - now that many other competitors have emerged, and Berrygood has also upgraded itself to put up with the tense competition, just as how it has changed its logo.

I think my first visit to Berrygood was 4 years ago, during the summer vacation after the Cert. Exam - I remembered ordering three big bowls of froyos with colourful toppings, sharing it among a large group of friends. oh so good, and so long were the days.

This time i went alone, as sometimes i felt like eating alone - you can read while you eat, and need not adjust yourself to match the pace nor taste of your eating mate. And so i went to berrygood, a place i have not visited for so long.

I ordered a large 'indulgence' and was glad to know that it has slightly over 200 kcal. As for the three toppings, i picked mochi my all time favourite, digestive biscuits and fresh banana slices off the blade. And oh for the base i picked the swirl of original and green apple.

The first spoonful of froyo reminded me of the good old days - more sour than sweet, i recalled all the moments i had froyos with my friends. The froyo was exactly what i used to have all the times in the past, and it is distinctly different from what is served in milky cow, which i always think is too sweet to be called a 'yogurt'.

anyhow, the tarty yogurt was too watery nonetheless - not icy in texture, it melts off a bit too quickly. but the toppings were fine - bananas were fresh, digestive biscuits fresh-off-the-pack and not soggy, and thanks to the nice shoppkeeper for the generous pour of mochis onto my froyo.

with a satisfied burp i ended my meal - the 'indulgence' was large enough alone to be a meal. And the taste of it, everything of it, made me indulged in my past old good times - so long were the days, and i cannot stop reminiscing.
